1. About VoteSafePA & Independent Status

VoteSafePA ("we," "us," "our," or "the Platform") is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit civic-education resource dedicated to helping Pennsylvania residents understand their voting rights and the electoral process.

VoteSafePA operates entirely independently. It has no affiliation, endorsement relationship, sponsorship, or connection — formal or informal — with any of the following: the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, the Libertarian Party, the Green Party, or any other political party, political committee, or political action committee; any candidate, elected official, or campaign organization seeking public office at any level; the Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Elections, or any county board of elections; the United States Election Assistance Commission, Federal Election Commission, or any federal agency; any municipal, township, borough, or county government office; any super PAC, 527 organization, 501(c)(4) advocacy entity, or government-funded organization. VoteSafePA does not speak on behalf of, receive direction from, or coordinate with any government or political entity. Content on this Site reflects independent research and editorial judgment only.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using votesafepa.org and any associated subdomains or services (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Site.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and VoteSafePA. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective upon posting to this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

3. Purpose and Nature of Content

The Site is provided exclusively as a free, nonpartisan civic educational resource. All content is intended solely to help Pennsylvania residents navigate publicly available information about voter registration, polling procedures, absentee and mail-in ballot processes, and related civic matters.

VoteSafePA is not an official government resource. Information on the Site does not constitute official guidance from any government agency and should not be treated as such. For official, authoritative information about Pennsylvania elections, users should consult vote.pa.gov or their county board of elections directly.

Content on the Site is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on the Site constitutes legal advice, political advice, or a legal opinion. VoteSafePA does not provide legal representation of any kind. If you have specific questions about your legal rights or voter eligibility, please consult a qualified attorney licensed in Pennsylvania.

4. Accuracy of Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of information published on the Site. However, election laws, regulations, deadlines, and procedures change frequently. VoteSafePA makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of any information on the Site.

You acknowledge that: (a) election rules vary by county and may change at any time; (b) you bear sole responsibility for verifying critical voting information through official government sources before acting on it; (c) reliance on information from this Site without independent verification is at your own risk; and (d) VoteSafePA will not be liable for any consequences arising from your reliance on Site content.

5. No Endorsement of Political Positions

VoteSafePA does not endorse, support, oppose, or take positions on any candidate, political party, ballot measure, or political viewpoint. The Platform is committed to providing factual, balanced civic information without advocating for any electoral outcome.

Any reference to a candidate, party, government official, or political organization on the Site is made solely for factual identification and informational purposes. Such references do not constitute an endorsement or opposition. Users are encouraged to consult multiple sources and form their own independent judgments about political matters.

6. Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, VoteSafePA grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for your own personal, noncommercial civic-education purposes. You may share links to Site content for educational, nonpartisan purposes.

You agree that you will not: use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose; reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit Site content without prior written consent; use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to harvest Site data; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its infrastructure; transmit any malicious code, spam, or disruptive content through or in connection with the Site; or use the Site to advance any partisan political agenda, voter suppression effort, or election interference activity.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, design elements, and the VoteSafePA name and mark — is the property of VoteSafePA or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without express prior written permission.

Fair use of limited quotations for noncommercial educational commentary or news reporting is permitted, provided attribution to VoteSafePA is clearly included. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in VoteSafePA content or marks.

8. Third-Party Links and Resources

The Site may contain links to external websites, including official Pennsylvania government sites, county election offices, and nonpartisan civic organizations. These links are provided as a convenience and for informational purposes only. VoteSafePA does not endorse, control, monitor, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or policies of any external website.

Your use of any linked third-party site is governed solely by that site's terms and policies. VoteSafePA is not liable for any harm, loss, or damage arising from your access to or reliance on any third-party site or content. The presence of a link does not imply any relationship or affiliation between VoteSafePA and the linked entity.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VOTESAFEPA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

VOTESAFEPA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. VOTESAFEPA DOES NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY INFORMATION ON THE SITE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VOTESAFEPA, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR VOTING-RELATED CONSEQUENCES — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, EVEN IF VOTESAFEPA HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain damages, VoteSafePA's liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. In no event shall VoteSafePA's total aggregate liability exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VoteSafePA and its operators, contributors, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Site in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (c) any content or information you submit to or through the Site.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

Before pursuing formal legal action, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute with VoteSafePA informally by contacting us at the address below and allowing thirty (30) days for resolution.

13. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible, while the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and VoteSafePA regarding your use of the Site and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
